HANUMAN TEMPLE AT WATSONVILLE, CA

Sankat Mochan Hanuman temple is in the Mount Madonna Center at Watsonville, Santa Cruz county, California. Sankat Mochan means one who removes all sorrows, pain, and suffering. Lord Hanuman is believed to influence the destiny of a devotee in way that no other deity would. The Prathishta ceremony of the temple was performed in 2003.  This Hanuman temple was inspired and built by Sri Baba Hari Dass. In 2001, students of Baba Hari Dass returned from India with a beautiful idol of Lord Hanuman. On seeing the statue, Baba wrote on his board, “It needs a Temple”. He walked to the ceremonial site at the center and scratched out with his foot a location for the temple and then, the digging for the temple construction began.  The temple is located away from the hustle and bustle of the city in a calm and serene atmosphere. A road trip to the temple is like a trip through the woods. Visitors to the temple can meditate in peace.  Temple Pooja: Arati is performed at the temple daily...
